I think it's a bit strange that people have not come to the realization that only a tiny, tiny, TINY percentage of coins have been submitted to TPGs. That means that most, as in "the vast majority"....are raw. People can't seem to wrap their minds around that fact for some reason.

For some reason..."If it was any good, it'd be in a slab" creeps into their thinking, and I don't know how you arrive at that point.

You really have to go to a coin show. If by a tiny amount you are referring to ALL COINS, then maybe. But for coins that are collectables, all you now see at coin shows is tons of plastic. I sometimes wonder where all the plastic comes from.

If your new or close to new at coin collecting you would have a small or rather not really large volumn of coins. Now here is a thought. If you have been collecting coins for a long time, me over 60 years, you accumulate a large quantity of coins. Now regardless of the value, if you start having many of your coins slabbed, try pituring the massive amount of plastic in your home. And example for me is over 3,000 Mercury dimes. Picture over 3,000 plastic slabs. Now if I took all my Lincoln Cents out of the 10 Whitman Albums and had those slabbed, again picture that mountain of plastic. Now throw in a total of over 100 Whitman Albums almost all full, 9 of those Whitman red cardboard two row boxes full of 2x2's, many rolls of coins and lots of coins waiting to be sorted out someday. I would suspect I'd have to purchase a separate home or even a warehouse for all that plastic.
So that is my reason for NO SLABS.
