GoldRush58: It seems that you are going to complete your 7070 album soon. Good job! For 4 commemorative holes, I also have Stone Mountain and George Washington.

Dollar coin Yes getting closer to getting that 7070 done. I have tried to fill a few of the easy coins off E bay but have gotten outbid.
That George Washington is one of my favorite coins. Plus it is from the year that my wife and I got married, so it goes along with the theme I have for this set. To put in coins from years that mean something to my family. I hope that will help who ever I pass it onto, to keep it in the family.

Wow...you will celebrate your 30th anniversary soon. I am making a slow progress on my 7070 and hope to get a jump during the ANA show in TX. I love George Washington coins and medals. I have a project about George Washington coins and medals.

I don't know if my wife would use the word wow ..... but she puts up with me.
That would be a nice display ... for Washington .. I think I would put in some currency also.

I just have 15 State Quarters, but still, I'm not even living in the US, so I guess that's normal, lol. But I do have (except the 15 states) US Virgin Islands, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa!

Needgames4lyfe, Commemorative Dollar coin in my type set is a 1999 Dolly Madison BU coin. It was designed by Tiffany and co.

needgames4lyfe - This is one of the dollar coins that the mint puts out every year. I mentioned Tiffany and co because it seems, to me, to be a better design then some that the mint has been putting out. I bought this one last year in a 2 coin (proof and BU) for around $55. I really like how this coin has "LIBERTY" with some of the letters raised and some are pressed into the coin. (is the word incused?) SDcoinguy - many of these coins I bought back in the 80's, and I know I did not spend much then. Like the 1932 S quarter I bought in a silver Washington set that was only missing the 32 D and paid $40. The 1821 half I bought off a bid board auction, it was in the 30 some dollar range. It was only recently that I some of the coins were over $100, the 1918 Illinois ($100) the 1882 CC Morgan ($110) and the 1877 Trade dollar was a little over $100. About half of the coins I have left to fill will get into, over $100 pretty easy. My thought is just take time, learn what a good price for that type coin and be ready when you find a coin you will be happy with and a good price. I think putting a set like this, when done, would be about $3000 of course adding at least $4000 if you add the gold page ... unless gold prices come way down. Of course all this is just my opinion. But then I have seen a couple 7070 on this site than must be well over $10,000. A person should not think they need to spend that all at once but to spread it out over years.

I understand about the security issue, however most of us have significant place and I know mine are also protected by Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Remington and Winchester!

I agree with you Hemisboat. While I do keep some stuff in the SDB, sets that I am working on I keep in a heavy safe. As for my security ... I have always thought it would be hard for me to decide which gun to use .. Recently I have decided on Remington 870 pump 12GA, I have 3 placed in good access around my property, along with two semiauto handguns. Also this week I have been putting together my concealed and carry application. In my experience if you have a plan and do everything you can to secure your property, then you will have less chance of a problem. Oh did I mention the dogs .. I have had people come to the house and not want to get out of their car unless I lock up the dogs ... He likes his coins too ...
