Quote: Quote: This has been suggested by many on this forum, but I have to agree that getting the business strike (7-series) Dansco and then adding pages for proofs is the best, most attractive way to go. That just might be the answer for presidents: Dansco 7186 (Date Set) One of each president in MS, then some proof pages behind that. Maybe they'll come out with some blank president pages like they do for the Sacs. Referring to this thread: https://goccf.com/t/61809&whichpage=1

First pass through a couple boxes of 2X2 and found 16 more nickels for some of the empty holes.
I have to say that I keep looking at the 2005 proof nickels, I like the look and design so much, these two have moved into my favorite coin category. (Ocean view and Bison)
I hope I can finish this Dansco before the end of 2011 ... last coins in page 6 ...

Upstate,
Thanks but I think I will keep it, gives me a place to put the nickels I get from the Mint and Proofs sets I break.
This dealer is a good friend, he does most of his business in scrap gold, gold and silver coins. I have bought a couple sets like this from him, if they sit there to long he will give me good price.

I started a Jefferson Dansco a couple of weeks ago. I usually pick up $10-$20 in nickels every time I cash a paycheck. Between those and my mint/proof sets that I had broken I figured it was time to start working on one. Mine is nowhere near that pretty, though. I would have rather paid someone $40 for the book + several of the coins.

Thanks guys This set is much harder to do, than I thought it would be. I pretty much have all the ones I can get from breaking mint and proof sets, so now I will have to find the individual coins. I have been to most of my local coin shops and bought the ones they had .. that I liked. The page with the westward journey nickels I think are my favorites. I also like the two silver War Nickels that I have so far, to me they are nice coins in uncirculated condition. oh .. the 40 S is a nice one too. I hope to find more like that one.

I wasn't really much of a Jefferson fan until I saw your album. That looks really nice! Thanks for turning my head!

Congrats!
Are your 2009 P & D business strikes or Satin finish?

Thanks for the replies. It really was a bigger effort than I thought it would be.
Tornandfrayed75 yes they are satin. I am one of those collectors that use mint and proof sets to fill my sets each year. In the past, for the sets I was not working on, I just put them in 2X2's until I did start them. So all the P and D's from 2005 on are satin finish.
