Isn't there something that can be done to conserve this coin without affecting it's value? The green stuff and corrosion really Detracts from the eye appeal. Will it get worse?

i think it will get worse. the only way to stop it from getting worse would be to send it in to a grading service

lafaa...that's a nice coin. Coins like that are the very reason I search every cent (nickel, dime, quarter) of my change, often to my wife's (very mild irritation) at Jim >>

I'm interested to know what you decided to do to preserve it?

Try this auction heading: "Rotated capped die strike". And try this description: "Struck once through a double-struck, rotated, late-stage die cap". Good luck.

STOP.

You just got done saying this is the best coin in your collection. You called it a "keeper" in your very first post in this thread. Why, then, do you run for a way to liquidate it, and what do you propose to collect and keep?

Go ahead, if you want. Throw it on ebay. Unless you're a reputable seller with a long record of coin sales, you're not going to realize the coin's value. It's not like everybody is going to automatically believe every word you say about it.

SuperDave makes a great point. The question I ask is this........When do you think you will find another error like this?
