I got one in my change in NYC. It looks like it is in pretty good shape. I don't really collect coins, I invest in them. Should I mail it to someone on the site?

Quote: Should I mail it to someone on the site? You do not qualify to participate in Buy/Sell/Trade yet, but there is no reason why you could not give it away in a contest.

How do I give it away in a contest? So I wouldn't be able to give it away without holding a contest?

Post it in the Contest, Quiz, & Giveaway forum. The contest could be a simple as "First one to respond wins!" Technically, a "giveaway" and not a "contest" (hence the forum name). So yes, in a sense, you can give it away without having to do anything special.

OK, I understand now. It's in NY right now and I am in NJ. I will have to do it Sunday or Monday.

Just found two Shields (D mints) today received in change from lunch at Boston Market ! .... Neither one is in all that great of shape though..... If I were to "rate" them on a scale of 1-10....I'd say these are a 6 or 7. Since they're brand spanking new....that is a cryin' shame ! Just imagine when I start seeing the "P" mints ! ... I hope to even recognize them at that point ! ... P mints will begin showing up here in about 6 more months to a year and a half or so.....

I've gotten a total of 3 Shields (2P, 1D) in change from a gas station just north of Bella Vista, AR in Missouri. None to be found in Little Rock. Only one bank in Little Rock got LP4 (P's) late last year. I've not found 09's any in circulation. So I would guess the $300 for AR is probably correct. I think most of the LR banks use the Fed at Kansas City and by roll counting we get a larger portion of Denver mintage for coins. Just my Three Cents worth. -- Terrell

Terrell, I live in Bella Vista. We have a good number of the 2009 cents in circulation here right now, but the 2010's are tough. There's a branch of the St Louis Fed in LR, by the way. And yeah, we see a lot of D mints here.
