This coin is impossible to capture, I give, these pics are as good I'm gonna get. The coin is very dark and there's a lot of odd reflections coming off the surface that make it look like there's lint or something on it. While it was dusty with 2x2 debris, I rinsed it with acetone and dried it with canned air. Toners are just hard as heck to photograph!   |

tough coin, its more than likely MS-60 something but the eye appeal at least to me is limited.
as dark as the coin is its near impossible for me to see any marks to be certian of a grade.

Let me make it easier to see with a couple angled shots and stronger light. This should make it easier.  Probably too easy, I was trying to present a bit of a challenge. I hate putting these shots up because they do not represent the true color of the coin....at all. Strong light and certain angles cause a coin to be misreprented in terms of color. I think the coin is unc, like I said the toning is a detraction for me as dark and irregular as it is MS 61-62

I'm thinking AU55. Had it not been for the angled shots, I would have guessed it was MS. |

Not MS, I see some contact marks on the cheek and jaw......AU55. Nice toning!

I see blue highlights on the cheek and jaw but nothing on the ear, I find that curious.

It would grade AU55 if it's not deemed as cleaned. I would have to see the coin in person to make that determination.

I understand what you're saying metalman. These sliders are TOUGH but I try to be conservative. If look at the Lincolns on the PCGS photo guide, this could be a MS-62/63...but I don't fully agree with their examples. Let's call it MS-55!  Lincoln Cent Lover!VERDI-CARE™ INVENTOR https://verdi.care/

Rub On these sliders I use the lapel as a confirmation of rub. The area closest to the tie is higher than the lapel area by the shoulder and when I see it extend to the area by the neck and shoulder, I consider it AU. The thing that makes these tough is when the reverse shows virtually no rub. In my experience the TPG's will cop out and call it AU-58 when this happens.
