Carl -- whitman does make their rub on decals in black, but I have only seem them with modern dates (like 1999+). They sell them as a way to update your album, not to create your own. If you have seen older date decals, let me know, I'd love to get them

Seen them hanging on merchandise boards at coin stores in my area. Lots of real old ones since most people are to lazy to go through the trouble of using them. And now that you mention it I do remember seeing the black ones too. The sheets I recently purchased from them not only had the recent dates but a real lot of extra letters and numbers. With those you could make any date you want but really takes time and patience to align each item. I use them all the time to create odd ball Albums like one with Liberty Head, Buffalo, Jefferson nickels all in one Album. No proofs though since not enough room for more than ten pages.
Not sure if they still have the older ones and I really hate to even mention their name since I really don't like that place BUT, Harlan J. Berk in Chicago used to have lots of them and oddly for them not a bad price. Used to walk by there about once a day when working in that area.
I wonder if contacting Whitman directly would get some results for the older ones. Not sure if he would want to be bothered but I used to send a lot of things I found wrong in the Red Book to them. Oddly enough always got an answer and even a free book once.

I was thinking instead of cutting individual labels for each coin. If your doing a sheet of them I would be easy to do one strip for each line of coins. The only thing you would have to work on is the spacing inbetween the dates, that way the all the dates would follow the same line and could be centerd in one strip. You could work that out but doing the spacing on a piece of paper and cutting it out to see how the spacing would look before you print the sheet. Once you have the spacing for the first row you would just have to follow that.

It took a few months for him to get all the pages in stock but Mike Jacobs over at Jake's Marketplace was able to accommodate my request for an "Early Nickel" Dansco album.

Ordered: 1 DA00001-5 Dansco Blank Binder - 1-1/8"" - 6-7 Pages - $7.95 Each
Ordered: 2 DA17117 Dansco Blank Nickel Page - $4.25 Each
Ordered: 4 Custom Dansco Pages - 6110-1, 7111-1, 7112-1, 7112-2 - $4.25 Each

So $33.45 not including shipping. Not a bad deal I thought and then I'll have the first three series of nickels all together in one album.

You did good!

I really admire people that make customized Dansco albums (having a few myself).

Hey lukkyseven. It was my understanding that you can assemble basically anything you want if you are using pages that already exist. It may just take some time for Jake's Marketplace to accumulate the individual pages.

Oh, so close...

Dansco 3 Cent Silver and 20 Cent
Dansco 2 Cent and 3 Cent Nickel

You can just get the pages and combine them then.

Custom hole punching in soft materials is easy with arch punches.
Just do a google search.
It might be a bit hard to find them in mm sizes.

This was a great how-to thread.. thanks!

I have been contemplating moving my dark side Dansco coins from their 12-pocket 2x2 pages to the Dansco millimeter pages. I have been working on determining how many of which size pages I need. I have also thought about labeling each hole (using this method) with the details which would be lost after removal from the 2x2s. The more I work on the planning, the more I like the idea.
