Specifically how many of each denomination fit in what size of box would be ideal information.

are you talking 2x2s stapled, self-stick, or taped? I think Bobby has an idea how many
since he did hundreds/thousands for the F.U.N. Show

If your referring to those either Red or Black cardboard boxes by Whitman, they make a large variety of them. Some are shorter than others, some have two rows, etc. And remember that there are a variety of 2x2's depending on the manufacturer. Some are thicker than others.
I've been using the longer, Red, two row ones. Each side holds about 125 of my folden ones. If using the thicker ones, only about 110 per side.

If you make sure to flatten the staples you will be able to fit more per box.

Nominally: 100. Depends on the average thickness of the 2x2's with the coins in them. Typical average thickness will reduce the practical number to around 90. If you have any more than this, there is not enough space within the box to flip past each 2x2, for a cursory inspection of each.

I prefer albums. You can look and compare 20 coins at a go. AND get a better look at each as well!
I use clear polypropylene pages, no PVC stuff for me!

I also prefer my coins in pages in binders.
I am curious about the boxes to store coins in 2x2 in my safe deposit box at the bank.

If you wish to review your coins often albums best.
If you wish to store them, 100's boxes best, because they are far more space efficient.
