Rest in Peace

Wow! I've never seen one that nice that wasn't for sale.

Glad it found its way to someone who appreciates it.

I STILL haven't seen an uncolored 5 at the bank for a month now, and wouldn't you know it, a 2001 $5 got given out as change at the mall. That's like the one time I can't intervene since it would look weird to approach a customer and ask to trade but cashier is no problem.

At a small indie band concert, I was buying some souvenir t-shirts and albums for for myself and friends. I paid with a $100 and I noticed some old-looking $10s and $20s in the casher's billfold. I asked if I could have old bills in change and he let me pick out the ones I wanted. None were crisp, but I did find a Series 1990 $20 and a Series 1988A $10, which was nice.

One of the tellers saved me 2 5s from 1974 with almost consecutive serial numbers. Both appear to be AU, one went into my collection and the other is in my emergency cash I keep on hand in the extreme case I actually need to use it.

My gal at the Circle K came out to meet me before I could get out of the car and asked me how much money I had. I said "Well, I've got the ATM inside." I needed it. She had a 1985 $5 and a 1990 $100. Both in good shape. Both new for me as I only started on bills a few months ago. Same place I got a 1963 $10 in great shape earlier. They have been good to me. Guess the cupcakes I gave them are paying off, as they have saved proof Ikes and JFKs, a '64 JFK and a 36-S walking liberty too.
