I wanted to value some coins...i dont know what they are worth...you see my mom is having some fainacial probs, and I just remembered that my grandmother left behind alot of old coins. And I was thinking that some of them might have some value of some sort. It would be a nice thing to be able to say that we have something of value in our household, especialy to help see our way out of our problems. I made it so my email is public. So if you can help just email me.

To help us better help you, please list the coins that you believe to be of value or feel free to list all of them if there isn't too many. You will get a ton of help here. In the mean time, to get a "little" idea, go on to ebay and just check there for high and low prices to see where yours might fit in possibly.

Sorry to hear the situation. If you have to sell them, I guess the most important thing is to accurate describe it and provide the best photos possible. If it doesn't trouble you a lot, you can post photos here and we will try our best to help you out. Welcome to coin community btw.

Welcome!! The Kennedy half and Ike dollars usually have no premium, though you might find a hoarder who will give you 10c or so over face value. The silver rounds are worth spot, around $12 each. The Peace dollars might be worth more than spot depending on the date and mint mark. I can't see them in the pic....

Iam assuming that the Mint Mark is left of the eagles wing at the bottom, so it says "S" on one and a "D" or "O" on the other and there from 1922.

the penny is mostlikely a 1943 steel penny, for what I can see You have 2 Peace dollars 1 I think is 1922 in for I can is maybe a vg another one I cant read the date both of these are silver 2 1976 Bicentenial Us Eisenhower dollars, one 1972 Eisenhower dollar A 1976 Bicentenial Kennedy half, A Spanished Theme Silver Christmas round and 4 others I can tell can you describe them And paticular writing launguage etc. As a whole your collection isn't going to bail you out of any financial dificulty, sorry. Maybe if you can post more pics of the others and better pics w desription of the 4 I mentioned, hopefully we can give you better news On the reverse of the Peace dollars I think both are 1922 to the left ther might be a mintmark a D or S this may help add to the value but not very much, Goodluck to you and I hope things work out for you

I will get some pics, and yes things always work out. The four coins are all from 1982 with a "999 Fine silver 10z argent fin 999" around the bottom. On the reverse side it says "One Ounce Troy Silver Eagle" around the top and "(MONEX)" "Monex international ltd" around the bottom. And well..it wasnt suprising to hear they wernt of value..but my expectation cant be to high..asides from that Asking doesn't hurt. And yes the Peace dollars say S and O or D, O or D I cant see that one too well, it looks alot like a D. And the Silver penny is not a 1943 it clearly says 1996. And another thing is that the Eisenhowers are from 1972, 1976 and 1976

From 1982 to present, one cent coins have been comprised of a zinc core plated with a thin layer of copper. Since it is from 1996 someone probably removed the copper through chemical means just leaving the zinc behind.

It doesn't seem soo.. my chem teacher said if it was left in a Zinc State it would quickly rust away...and ive had it for about 8 years, and it seems te beet the condition of a current penny. And even my golden penny..the one that was chemicly alterated is rusting and ive only had that one for 2 years.

carefull handling 1996 penny could be mercury 'plated' thus toxic. I've come across one myself; it does not show any sign of corrision either. just a 'heads up'.i handled mine 'bare handed' (out of a circulated bank roll)when I first discovered it ; now coin is only handled with gloves.

I never heard of a coin being plated in MErcury. How does something like that occur? Post mint?

the silver "coins" (as you call them) are just silver rounds andare bullion peices which means they are worth what ever silver is trading at on the particular time you sell, so right now a little $11.89 a peice for 1 ounce of silver
