1 bag of $500; A couple really nice ATB and 1 1948s. Wish it was a hole filler, but I'm happy with any silver in quarters these days.

hey rewster I have a thread up in the trade section and I'm trying to get rid of some of my extra stuff for hole fillers, check it out, that 48 S would look pretty in my album! I have lots of silver stuff we could trade to help each other out. I've already completed a handful of trades like this, and it's a cool way to fill holes without spending more money send me an email if you want, maybe we can talk

I've been getting more silver quarters than at anytime since the autumn of 1969. The FED removed them from circulation during '68 and the first half of 1969 so they weren't seen often. I suppose the reason is the destruction of households where the contents of foreclosed houses just get "dispersed" and coins end up at the bank.
I've also been seeing a lot of great clad that has been removed from circulation over the last dozen years or so getting back into change. The rarities still aren't seen of course but there are lots of good quarters for collectors and even a little gem states material.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Yeah I've been noticing that too cladking. I found 2 silvers in the past 2 bag I've gone through, and one of our tellers just found another one as she was rolling coin. I do believe that as the Great Generation continues to pass on, more silver will make its way back into circulation. I mean think about it. First off a lot of people of my generation (X & Y) don't even know that coins used to be actual silver, and those that do probably don't think they are worth more than maybe 3-4x face value. So I think many people, while going through their parents or grandparents things, will just think "Oh Grandma had a cup of quarters in her cupboard. Well let's take them to the bank." Even if they know they are silver many people will think it's not worth while try to sell it because they are under the impression that a silver quarter is worth $.50 or a $1. (At least this is my hope)

thanks biggfredd I got no silver from the box I just finished. and here is my rundown after completing my second box since I started to collect 65-98 coins that I have deemed to be in great shape. I will look at grading guidelines soon and let you all know what I have anyways 1932-1964 19 of 83 1965-1998 44 of 63 Gonna maybe get some pics up of where I am at and then each coin I get to put in I will photograph and post Also just a heads up. If anyone is missing any State Quarters I notice A LOT of really nice BU State Quarters while roll searching. There is a lot of trash out there, but between it all there are some nice struck washingtons

Dumped 2 boxes of halves and 2 boxes of dimes yesterday and was all excited about going to pick up 2 boxes of quarters today. Never tried them, but with dimes drying up here, figured I would try something different. About a mile from the bank it hits me...OH THAT'S RIGHT IT'S A HOLIDAY TODAY! Now that I don't have boxes to open the wife is going to expect me to do work around the house tonight.

hahahaha Well good luck with the quarters when you get them. I am really enjoying putting this set together. It is seeming to be difficult to get the clad coins for my album in good shape. the silvers are of course tough, but the album looks really nice and it's more rewarding then lets say the Jefferson nickel album, JFK album or something like that which I have almost completed. The coins seem to be out there and look really nice al put together. I feel that especially the jeffersons can be so weakly struck and so circulated when found in circulation that they just dont look amazing like the washingtons are starting to look.

I get 8 rolls of QTRS every week, looking for holes to fill the park quarters. The parks are not common and in Chgo, the Ds are even rarer to find. Out of the 8 rolls I will find 1 maybe 2 park qtrs of the right mint. Haven't found any silver in a number of years. I have two banks I but the rolls from and switch back and forth each week. I am open to any suggestions or ideas veteran rolls can add. It is fun, even when nothing is found, just the possibility makes is interesting.

Went through my 1st box of Quarters today. Found a few ATB's but no hole fillers. Other than that, I found an Washington Oklahoma State Quarter Proof. A little scratched up, but still cool to find. Not a complete loss.

Long time no post guys and gals. I did happen upon 2 very nice quarters today. 1945P that is a beauty! and a well worn 1946P. Dug through $1K over the last 2 weeks. Sorry I have been away, took a new job, moved to a new city, but I still couldn't shake the old lady or my coin bug. Guess these two will be with me for life haha take care all.
