Some bars are collectible and some people pay a premium for them but I am not sure if this is one of them that is sought after or not

SDcoinguy,
I found this on Wikipedia hope it helps. My I comment on how jealous I am of the silver bar that you own. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assay_office

I read somewhere that this was silver bought from the assay office then privately minted into rounds and bars. The CC is the actual company that mints them. I forget what the CC stands for, something like Community Coin. I don't know or remember if it had a large premium.

I see those at coin shops at coin shows mixed in with other generic bullion so as far as I know there is no premium above and beyond the normal prices. Still a nice piece to own with silver over $26/oz. :)

Does any body here think that silver will be at $17.50 or lower?

There is no premium for that bar, but it is a well recognized bar so selling will never be a problem. They also made 1 oz bars and rounds too.

These could have been assayed and minted for Coast to Coast Coins.
