Come on, he has enough transactions to realize how to take a picture and add it to ebay.

True, but he never said he doesn't know how to add a picture. He said he couldn't get a good close-up of the coin, which is the problem many collectors have, even on here. Obviously the guy isn't as straight up as he could be, although I don't find anything wrong with his auction. He stated

IM ONLY selling this because this doesn't look real to me. I am not sure if I'm allowed to sell this on ebay so if I'm not let me know and ill take it off. I looked up fake coins on ebay and found "copy" on all the coins and this coin doesn't have "copy". but it looks way to nice to be real.

which doesn't seem overly shady or dishonest to me. I think it might be a good idea for you to either email and educate the seller or report the auction to ebay instead of blasting him publicly here.

He's only gotten one negative in the past 12 months, and that was for bad communication and slow shipping, completely unrelated to scamming and selling counterfeits as genuine. Also, that might of been similar to an auction I'd do if I found a strange collectible like a stamp or a baseball card before I knew about forums and coins. He's basically stating "judge my description and auction and pay what you want" which I don't find overly dishonest.

If anything, I fault the buyers for not doing their research and using common sense before bidding.

Regardless of his business ethics, your right in that people are dumb. Did you see the ending bid? $455 for what is obviously a fake coin. I don't know if it's just that they are uneducated, or just don't read the details.

Dear ebay Member,

Thank you for writing ebay to report this potentially violating listing
to us.

I have thoroughly investigated your report, and have confirmed that the
item was in violation of the ebay Selling Coins policy. As such, I have
removed the listing from the ebay site.

Thanks again for your report.

Sincerely,

Akira

The link to that coin has been removed. I didn't get a look at it, but I have seen some coins on ebay that one should shy away from. But I bought some nice coins off ebay and for the most part the coin sellers are pretty honest. There are always some dumb a$$'s associated with just about anything that is being sold.
