Quote: I posted middle of page 6, coin was not sent until january 25 and was sent to pcgs not anacs or ngc My bad, but you have to admit it has been a little confusing...it was going out Dec 5th to ANACS...then in Jan 10 it was going to NGC....thanks for keeping me up to date

Your dealer might be able to jump online by now with PCGS and at least see what they determined. Then all we would need is pics, but at least we'd know!

I want to know....is this normal for them to take so long to grade a coin? If you ask me...seems like lousy service! Is it silver or not!

I will continue to check in on the status of the grading. I wish it was as simple as some here think it is but from what I understand is they have to put it through a specific gravity test. Weather or not they do that or they are sending it out, I don't know. It was just sent out three weeks ago so I have a feeling it is going to be a while yet. I swear you guys will be the second to find out. I am sick of the drama as well, but at this point I have done all I can do. Btw the grading fee is going to be quite a but more than I originally posted. Not sure on the damage report yet but I wouldn't be shocked if it was double the amount of $40 I originally posted. Now on to more exciting things like the ms 65 1896 Barber half dollar I may be purchasing tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Considering it is PCGS and probably sent under the Mint Error class, it will be costly. Last I knew the Mint Error class was $50 per coin and then you have the shipping and insurance both ways. I could easily see it costing $80 or more.

80 dollars or more? What if its just a normal 1977 D? thats alot of money to pay for grading a coin that probably only worth 2 dollars. I really hope it is silver hybes!

Just now thought about it..but why didn't we suggest use one of those chemical testers to test for silver...quick,easy,painless...and you could have taken a sample from the edge to preserve the coin.
