I have been looking at all the varieties of the 1940,,can anyone help with the errors on the wheat ears?This seems to be a coin that takes a pro to I.D. correctly,,do the wheat ears on my coin come close to a error type?

Doubled dies are not errors - they are die varieties...and you don't have one here. You do have an error, though. It's type - incomplete planchet strike. Congrats!

Oh...by the way, the CherryPickers' Guide only lists about 5% of all known die varieties, and does not list some of the nicer ones. It's kind of a "best of" book. It's nowhere near comprehensive.
