Found a Canadian 5 cent that looks AU and is magnetic with mint mark. Not sure why it was rejected (found in a MI. Coinstar). Jgray, the reject bin is on the lower right in the front as you are standing in plain sight. I believe you cannot make change or switch coins. The machines do not take silver and some others that I'm not sure on.

bpoc: I think Coinstar machines in the USA reject all magnetic coins. Since the only US coin in circulation that was magnetic was the 43 cent it is not really an issue.
Since many Canadian coins are magnetic Coinstar machines there accept magnetic coins or the mag sensor is disabled.

I've been checking out these forums for about a month now and decided to join just now. Just started collecting hardcore about 2 months ago. 2 years at a TD Bank Penny Arcade, I found a 1943 Hindenberg Nazi coin. Also found an Eisenhower dollar when the girl was changing the bags.

Wasn't technically in the reject bin, it was sitting on the machine itself as I walked by, but I found an MS 2008 Canadian 10c.

Dumped a bunch of junk coins the other day at my local grocery store CoinStar machine. Found a US nickel in the reject hopper. This is the first time in a month or more that I have found something in a CS machine.
I did notice that the machine did not separately list copper cents from zinc cents. The last time I used it it did list them separately.
