Not actually a "Coinstar" machine, but Publix has their own coin changers. At one Publix when I asked about rejected coins, they handed me a whole bowl full of German 1, 5, and 10 pfennig coins, over a hundred coins in all.

While passing by a Coinstar, I noticed 2 penny in the return slot. One was a zincoln, the other was this 1925 wheatie - a date I needed for my circulated penny collection to boot.

The only thing good that I have found was a 1943 steel LWC in a reject slot that was G-4. Found some foreign coins once in a while but thats really it. I never though about doing a Coin Star run because it sounds like a waste of gas and time. Also 1 comment ever!

I usually check them when I am in the store, so it is not a separate travel expense.

My son now gets on the floor to look under the coinstar machine at the Wal-marts thanks to a post on here I told my wife about that he overheard. He was checking the machines but he gets shy about going over when others are around. Now he is on the floor and my wife walks away from us both. He is up about $1.27 and a world coin(forget what country). Most of it from under the machine.

Word must be out on the reject trays. Our Coinstars have been drier than CA. Only a few misc Canadian dimes in the last few months. Was averaging a silver dime per month last year

No silver yet in ours, My son got a quarter when he was with his mom. He said it was a 1974 but he put it in his piggy bank. I asked him to show it to me and it was a 1974 but the rim was very strange. It looks like it was in a holder of some kind. I will try to post photos in the future and see what everyone thinks it is. I thought it was a magic coin but can't get it apart.
