Scored $0.37 in stacked change (quarter, 2 nickels, 2 pennies) several days ago in the reject. I figured it'd be a silver quarter or something.

Not to be a Negative Nancy, but the spirit of this thread is to mention interesting coins found in or around a Coinstar machine (foreign coins, old coins, silver coins, etc.) If you find a clad dime, a 2010 nickel and 3 Zincolns then it's not worth mentioning IMO. If you find a silver quarter and 32 cents in modern clad/zinc/nickel coins, it would be OK to mention the 32 cents but finding a New Mexico State Quarter and a shield penny isn't something I would post about.

On that subject, last week I found a 1937 Mercury dime in the reject slot of a Coinstar.

Tonight I pulled out a handful of change from the reject tray. I found 37 cents in modern coins, a Chuck E Cheese token dated 2002, a weird looking arrowhead shaped object made of an unknown metal that seems to be religious in nature and a 1953-D dime. I've had pretty good luck finding silver lately.

Actually found a big quantity for the first time ever. 10 coins, mostly clad but did include a 1975 Canadian quarter and a 1920 Wheat cent.

My father asked me today what was the last year for silver dimes.

I said 1964.

He said he had a silver dime. He had gone to his bank to cash in his pile of change and said the Coinstar type machine they have in the lobby kept spitting it back out.

So he gave it to me

I stuck my hand in the Coinstar machine and pulled out a single coin. I expected it to be a zinc penny but it was a 1964 dime. It's not in bad shape, either. I keep finding silver coins at this Coinstar location. I wonder why most silver dimes that are still in circulation are 1964s.
