I see I haven't posted to this thread since May 30. Usually I need to find silver to post, but this time I have found 133 wheat cents today I feel justified making a post. Last week, in change, I also received a 2003S cent and a 1964P dime. I'm not even sure what store since I was shopping for Christmas in a number of places. In the intervening months I also have found $0.77 in common change and this stuff: I found the PGA ball marker during the weekend of the PGA tournament this year. The wheats I found today look like the "junk" wheats from someone's collection. 1 - 1919 P 12 - 1930 P 18 - 1934 P 1 - 1934 D 7 - 1935 P 4 - 1935 D 1 - 1935 S 12 - 1936 P 1 - 1936 D 12 - 1937 P 1 - 1937 D 1 - 1937 S 16 - 1938 P 1 - 1938 S 12 - 1939 P 1 - 1939 S 12 - 1940 P 12 - 1941 P 1 - 1944 P 2 - 1946 P 1 - 1948 P 1 - 1953 D 3 - 1955 P 133 in total The 1919 was badly pitted and the 1934D was very well worn. None of the 36's or 55's was a double die. But still . . .

I've often heard about people finding interesting coins in the reject slot of Coinstar machines in the USA. This is a British machine. The slot marked "1" is where you put the coins in. Is the slot marked "2" the one you guys call the 'Reject Slot'?

Yep, #2 is the reject slot... I gotta say, I like your blue coinstars better than our green ones!

I have hit a dry spell at my coinstars. Do you guys find more in the reject tray or the top tray? Also who looks under the machine, be honest nobody will judge you :)

Yeah, I'll admit it, I check the floor, but draw the line about getting on my knees and looking under . Nothing good usually in the top tray, BUT when the machine is full, it backs up to the top tray, and there can be quite a bit of change stuck in the slot. The only good stuff is found in the reject slot though. A big dry spell in my coinstars also, but did get a handful of worthless junk last week.

I have only found coins twice and both times were in the reject tray

Thanks guys! One of my New Year Resolutions will definitely be to check Coinstar reject trays more frequently! I'd love to crawl on the floor to look under the machines, but this might be difficult in a busy supermarket. In my local ASDA the machine is right by the entrance where people pick up their baskets and there are usually lots of shoppers standing around gossiping around it...

Two days ago, I found a 1958 dime (silver Rosie) stuck at the insert tray. Yesterday, I found 30 cents and 2001 2 peso and 1958 dies pesos.

Well, this went to the top of my weird Coinstar finds: In the Reject tray on my way out of the grocery store I saw what appeared to be a couple coins. I reached in and scooped but it turned out to be a single elongated penny, like you might find after the kids put them on a railroad track.. When I got home I looked at it under the light and it was not a train penny but one of those stamped souvenir machine coins. "Make your Penny a Keepsake!"... This was from Kartchner Caverns, in Benson Arizona a 200 mile trip from here.

For some reason, my girlfriend has all the luck finding good stuff. Her best was finding an old San Francisco fare token, but a close second is one she just found, a Fiji 1 cent coin from 1999, a country I didn't have any coins from.
