I find it so odd that people don't take the rejects. I know some don't because each time we are by a coinstar there have been at least 10 coins in it. Silly people!

The best part is that theres even a reminder that comes on the screen to check for returned coins!

I found a 2014 Chinese 5 yuan coin in the reject bin. It looks almost like a proof, or at least PL.

Still free $$$. Best I found was a Canadian 1945 dime. All the rest just common US and foreign coins.

1943 steel cent,2003 Australian 5 cent, 1955 Wheat cent and a 1954 Japanese 10 Yen on my last stop. The previous 20 visits netted nothing so this was a huge score for me.

Regular people who know nothing about coins think that all the coins are produced with worthless metals like clad and the zinc pennies, and they don't bother to look for the rare chance of silver. To them, silver doesn't exist in regular coinage because they don't pay attention to it. They probably expect that all their coins would be accepted and so they don't bother to check for rejects. Lucky for us coin collectors, though!

To be honest I'm surprised at the silver still out there in the wild! Until reading on these boards I really didn't know or or think of searching boxes of coin. Nor would I think people just left reject coins!

I got a battery once. Anybody have somebody say something when you walk by and grab the rejected coins?

I feel funny looking. My husband doesn't. We have found at least 10 coins each time in doing so though. I was very surprised. And at a busy location. I feel like all are watching. But really nothing wrong with it I guess
