Grading fees are $30 per coin. Total cost with round trip insured shipping was $43 per coin. The 2 MS69PLs brought $1,864 ($999 and $865) on ebay so it was worthwhile. : )

Was anyone able to get in on the Coins-N-Things sale this afternoon? I tried for about an hour, then again from 4:30 til 5:30pm, busy, busy, busy! I tried about 7:00 pm EST and received a recorded message that said to check back during 2nd quarter on their new website: ATB.cntofma.com, orders will only be taken on the website for the 2010 ATB 5 piece coin set.

I tried the same thing. Busy during the sale, and the same recording before and after. I think joker was able to get through.

Quote: Jbuck I checked out the sites you listed not much talk going on for March. Am I missing something on the 5oz.ATB? gasman96 Those links were the most recent discussions, so I guess the conversation about them has died down somewhat.

ATB Silver Bullion Coin Update As just reported on Coin Update News, the US Mint has released some preliminary information on the 2011-dated America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins. They have also provided a strong incentive for slow moving authorized purchasers to distribute their 2010-dated coins. This series of over-sized silver bullion coins features the same designs as the current circulating quarter dollars. The ATB silver bullion coins have been the subject of much controversy due to the nature of last year's release. On December 1, 2010, the US Mint provided details of the 2010-dated releases. All five designs would be released at the same time and have mintages of 33,000 units each. This unexpectedly low number generated excitement with many collectors. Just before the US Mint was scheduled to begin sales, one of their authorized purchasers began accepting pre-orders at a price reflecting a high premium above the acquisition cost. Customers complained and the US Mint halted the offering. When the program relaunched, the AP's were required to agree to terms and conditions in order to receive their distributions. They would be required to distribute all coins directly to the public, limit to one coin per design per household, and could not charge premiums in excess of 10% of the acquisition cost. Nine of the AP's agreed to the terms and ordered their allocations from the Mint. In the following weeks and months, the sales procedures utilized by many of the AP's left much to be desired. Several have still not finished selling their allocations. To my knowledge the AP's who have not sold all of their 2010 ATB Silver Bullion Coins are: Jack Hunt Coin Brokers, APMEX, and Coins N Things. This year, the circumstances of the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins should be much different. The US Mint has indicated that they intend to issue the coins in "substantially higher" quantities. Hopefully, this will allow the coins to be viewed more like bullion coins (as intended) rather than numismatic rarities. In line with the higher mintages, the US Mint will not be imposing terms and conditions similar to those used for the 2010-dated releases. The first design of the year featuring Gettysburg National Military Park is anticipated to be released in late April. This suggests that each design will be released individually during the year, rather than all at once. Authorized purchasers who wish to participate in the distribution of these coins must certify that they have sold all 2010-dated coins in compliance with the terms and conditions imposed. Once they have certified that all of their original allocation has sold, they can then buy and sell 2010-dated coins under normal procedures and receive allocations of 2011-dated coins.

Even though I not really too interested in the series, seems way too expensive for 25 oz of silver. I still was lucky enough to get picked to buy a set from amark today even though $974.33 for 25 oz of graded quarters doesn't seem great but with low mintage and more being produced next year I feel will add to its value if more people get interested in the 2011 5 ozers. Plus with what people are getting with them on ebay seems great especially if I get some proof like ones.

Woohooo. Just got an email from A-Mark that I've been randomly selected to purchase the ATB 5oz coins! And for only $875! I'm talking to my wife about it. Trying to show her how much money we could make if we bought them and had them graded. Can someone very quickly get me some numbers so I could show my wife what potential this is? Or ad grading fees plus eBay/paypal fees if sold, te likelyhood of them being graded 69 or higher. Etc please let me know. I've got till midnight tonight!

SDcoinguy: While the potential is there, so is the chance you'll make very little. My first A-Mark set was $974 delivered plus $215 for total grading expenses or $1,189 total. I got 2 MS69PL, 2 MS68PL, and 1 MS67DMPL out of that order and sold it for a total of $2,962 with about 10% ebay fees equals = $2,665 total (4 of 5 sold on ebay) and paid the shipping/insurance that averaged $15 coin so my net was $2,590. I made $1,400 and bought some nice stuff. Now my second A-Mark set was purchased from my sister for $1400 delivered plus $215 for total grading expenses or $1615 total. I don't have the grades yet but the second set did not look nearly as good as the first. I hoping to get $2,000 out of it but that's iffy at best. Bottom line? For $974 delivered it's worth a shot and you might get lucky and worst case? You'll get your money back selling them. Tell the wife these are worth buying!

Felitrade is just not that convenient, you got to fill out a form, print it out and send personal info though the mail plus a check. I could care less but I just think of anything that can go wrong plus they said there may be fingerprints, scratches, etc on the coins
