Just got my order placed from the US Mint. Took 30 minutes of patience. So the site works, it's just very slow, as predicted. 1-2 minutes at least between each screen submission.

It's hard to believe the Mint Website is so inadequate. I think my order went through but I can't get to the tracking page. My order went through.

Yeah, they even acknowledged it on the web site, stating that they wouldn't be able to augment until mid-2012 at the earliest. Shipping expected in May, so probably no tracking available yet.
I'd quote directly but don't want to bother with the web site right now.

I'm somewhere in the 8 pages of billing information. You would think that they would streamline taking my money into one page.

Got my order in 8 minutes after they went on sale but it says "back ordered" as the status. Anyone else who ordered, what does yalls say?

Wow! The checkout process wasn't merely slow, but glacial. 44 minutes to order 2 coins, one for me and the other for my SO. It was much faster on the cellular than on the laptop, and enabling "quick pay" on her account saved 10 minutes... My 4G network looked like dial up from 1995. !

So I took a quick peek back at the US Mint site and got the actual verbiage: Quote:
The United States Mint will begin accepting orders for the 2010 America the Beautiful Five-Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin--Hot Springs National Park at 12 Noon (Eastern Time) on Thursday, April 28. Because of the anticipated demand for the coins, we expect that our online ordering management system will be much slower than usual. As we have previously indicated to our customers, our online ordering management system is in need of upgrade. Fixing the system is a priority. Unfortunately, we do not anticipate an upgraded system being in place until approximately mid-2012. In the meantime, we apologize to our customers for any inconvenience and ask them to be patient during this time.
