My Hot Springs "P" has a couple small scratches. One on the rim and one above "OF" on the obverse. A little disappointed but still a cool piece.

Quote: That's why insurance companies should stay out of the coin business. He also kept saying how they still have a bunch and I should tell my friends. I wanted to be like: "Yes, that's what I'm going to do. Tell my friends that know nothing about collecting coins to spend two months and a thousand dollars, open two accounts at prudential, have a background check, and then get some silver pucks." @RSX: Yeah, you did send yours in before me. Odd that you didn't get a call yet. I also thought it was odd that he called my cell phone since I'm 90% sure that I wrote down my home phone (since I think that's what I have as my contact info on my CC).

I got my Hot Springs 5oz ATB Silver coin today from the US Mint. The coin is beautiful maybe MS69, but not to happy with the OGP. Also wanted to know what collectors were paying for the 2011's; I ordered the Gettysburg and Glacier on a special offer from A-Mark for $629.99 + $20 (shipping). Would like to know what other AP's are charging.

From Mint News Blog today: Quote: 2010-P Yellowstone National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin
Yesterday, the US Mint announced the release date for the next numismatic America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Coin. The coin featuring Yellowstone National Park will go on sale May 17, 2011 at 12:00 Noon ET.
Matching the terms of the previous release, the coins will be priced at $279.95, with a mintage of 27,000, and ordering limit or one per household.
Meanwhile, the Hot Springs Five Ounce Uncirculated Coins still remain available for sale on the US Mint's website. Despite strong opening sales, the anticipated quick sell out did not occur, likely impacted by the dramatic fall in silver prices that coincided with the release.
I am currently awaiting information for the latest US Mint sales report that should indicate exactly how many coins remain available for sale.
Update: The latest US Mint sales report indicates sales of 49,411 for the 2010 Proof Gold Buffalo and 26,866 for the 2010-P Hot Springs Five Ounce Uncirculated Silver Coin. Note: if that last figure is correct, there are only 134 NP1 coins left for sale, not including any returned coins. So, "woo-hoo," a sell out after two weeks... The Hot Springs coin is nice, looks more like an oversized medal than a coin. Is the fervor going as great next Wednesday for Yellowstone (NP2) as it was for Hot Springs two weeks ago?

I really wish they had sold the 2010 coins in 2010! They would have been so much more affordable for everyone. In 2010 prices, the 27k would have sold out in 2 hours, as opposed to two weeks. Oh well, maybe Yellowstone will do better.

With the spot price moving so rapidly by the time a quote is seen on a message board it is WAY out of date. These price comparisons (two coins) were done on 3 open browsers at the same time so you can get the relative difference in the seller's prices. cash/bank wire and credit prices at 1118am APMEX $458/471.74 Provident $449.50/461.40 Gainsville $$425.50/439.20 CC price at Gainsville is $32 cheaper than APMEX AND $19 cheaper than their cash price!

I got my 2010 Hot Springs quarter. Interesting that when the gubmint wants something to get there, they use OOPS instead of USPS.

Quote: Yeah, I see some totally random scratching on the shield as well, and I can't figure out what that's supposed to be. Mine looks like a mountain on the right, and a bird in flight to the left. Dunno what's at the bottm.
