Got the same email last night. For some reason it was the only APMEX email to find it's way into my spam folder. Good thing I checked! Ordered!

Quote:Received an email from APMEX that vicksburg 5oz bullion version coins are now available at a much lower price than the collector version coins Correct....that's because they are NOT collector's version coins Not available from APMEX until the beginning of July....ATB bullion is cheaper at Provident

I agree...and I think a nice DMPL bullion puck has it all over the bland P pucks from the Mint

I received my ATB set from DSD last week. In the two months from order to receipt, I lost my desire for them. I bought the regular silver mint set ATB Quarters from the Mint and sold my ATB 5 oz set. The money has better uses elsewhere.

I see this $10,000+ series rapidly losing luster. It would be like putting together a V nickel set if every coin was as expensive as the 85p.

Both the bullion and the collector versions are going the way of the First Spouse 1/2 oz. gold series, too many coins and too expensive, not to mention too large to house and adequately protect. Wiser heads should enact legislation within the next year or two, when they finally figure out why these coins don't sell all that well, and curtail either the bullion or uncirculated coins or both. Or reduce the size and weight. They are nice coins, but the novelty factor has worn off, exposing them for the impractical objects that they are.

I still like the 5 oz'ers. I had made a plan a couple years ago to buy silver as an investment for the next 20 years and the announcement of the ATB's works great for this plan. I admit, storage & premiums are a little bit of a concern but well worth it in my opinion. I'm a collector and an investor and these are working well for me on both accounts.

I like the fact that we dont have to wait verry long for the next design to come out other wise I would probably spend my money on other coins while waiting for them and not have enough cash when they did come out but I am sold on the proof like surfaces.

My coins came from DSD. They were in a bubble mailer filled with this weird plastic stuff just stuffed in the mailer and then stuffed in a well-taped box. I kind of feel like I'm going to barf.

I thought they were packaged very appropriately for the bullion product that they were sold as...They were not sold as numismatic items

Topic cleaned up. Buying and selling is NOT allowed in the main forums. This time there were suspensions handed out.
