I love these more than the Silver Proofs I just purchased. Why do they have to use the weak obverse on the normal coins? These look stunning.

Quote: I would like more opinions of those who bought or are seriously thinking of buying weather or not its an investment worthy of an appreciation in value
The current silver spot value is at $750 the ap's are selling the sets for $900 +-.the ap's are making $150 per set minus the registered mail & insurance they have to pay out of that so there not making alot of money off collectors the designs are worth the $150 profit imo I herd on a tv coin show last nite that the mintages might be 100k for 2011 sets witch would make these a lower mintage ATB 5oz year set ! Good luck

Just an FYI regarding NGC Early Release cut off date....It was previously mentioned that the coin package had to be "postmarked" by February 14th which is incorrect.
It has to ARRIVE at NGC by the 14th....PCGS requires it normally to be postmarked by their cut off dates (none for this issue)

Bherring, Quote: Does the spike go into the 0? A scratch like that should be seen in the 0 also. Upon closer inspection it is a very interesting mark. Please give me any links you have regarding any info so I can do some investigating. From what I can tell it is incised in the fields around the O. Because the O is also incised (much deeper) the mark is not deep enough to effect the O. What is interesting is there seems to be no material raised up around the mark. If it were just a scratch, and a deep one at that, then the material would have displaced somewhere. My only thoughts are that this might be a struck through of some kind.

I agree I think the price is getting down to a "fair" level. It's a lot of silver and some gorgeous designs!

what other companies are selling them besides APMEX and amark which seem to be out. I would like to own them but To me anything over 1k is not worth it, I would rather pick up another roll of the 2011 silver wolves or even the 2011 silver bear when its available. Still low mintage and 25 oz of silver ;)

captainkurt an issue similar to yours was posted in the CU Forums monster thread on 5oz ATB rounds. Yours looks a bit different though. Could it be a planchet flaw?

Hey B, I tried really hard to search that monster thread. 420 pages, well, I got through many but holy cow! I did see something similar as well, but the mark was much longer in the CU forum. Thank you for bringing the information to my attention! I have learned much from the comments. I have since moved on. My most recent set that arrived today was REALLY nice. Four out of the five Amark coins were quality. I have a few weeks to wait for some other sets to arrive and then I will be sending at least eight coins to PCGS under the subscription program if they will except them for the gold membership. Good luck on yours! Let us know how it turns out and I will do the same.

Okay I don't normally do this but here goes. I heard that ANACS has graded a set of these MS70 and they will be offered tonight (early Tuesday morning) on the Home Shopping Network's Coin Collector show at midnight Pacific Time. I'm not an advocate of the HSN or it's Coin Collector show because their prices are usually ridiculous, but this might be worth a look if you're a night owl. http://www.hsn.com/collectibles/coi...7&prev=hp!sf

I finally got my ATB 5oz quarters from A-mark. They are prettier then I had hoped. I went through them quickly under a 10x loop and I only saw polishing marks. I will try to get them up on the forum here in a while. Wow the Mint did a wonderful job and I am certainly very happy with A-Mark in their packaging. For those on the fence, my vote is once you have the coins in your hand it would be very hard to say no. Now I realize that we all have budgets, but I paid under $1000 and I think they are worth it. My next decision is to determine if I should grade them. I will cross that path once I get the photos up.

Well I spent a couple of hours trying to scan the coins on my printer but the resolution on the pdf file were real poor. I do have a Flip camera, would that be better. I am open to learn how to take photos of my coins. As you can read I have no experience in coin photography. Any help would be appreciative.
Also do I need to have 50 posts before I can upload images to the forum. I was having trouble with that as well.

You don't need 50 posts to post images on CCF. Scans are generally not good so try to use your camera.
A-Mark pieces were not cherry-picked and most people have been happy with them. Spots to check include the rims and outer edges on the 'park' side. Best of luck!
