thanks for your comments to me questions/concerns. but I feel that they have not fully been answered.
a big purchase like this for me means "risk". I am running the risk of buying something that might fall or might not. but like the 1995W edition, certainly not? lol I would like more opinions of those who bought or are seriously thinking of buying weather or not its an investment worthy of an appreciation in value

I know I have already given my opinions but I cant help myself when it comes to these coins. I have been so excited about them and looking forward to them all year. SD - So many factors are just known in regard to these coins. It is really impossible to tell what is going to happen with demand in the future. Let's look at some pros and cons and hopefully some others will chime in too. Cons - It seems only one third to half of the 33,000 sets have been publicly sold. Of which only a few thousand (maybe less then 5,000) have been delivered. Unknown where, how many, or when the rest will be sold or if they have already been sold within the AP's privately. No population reports have been given as to the grades of coins already graded. Although, 69's from PCGS seem to be rare and valuable right now, (especially the Yosemite). Prices are steadily falling on ebay as delivered sets are being unloaded, thus flooding the market right now. No clue what condition coins you will receive. Although Amark seems to be the best option right. No clue how important condition will be because populations are not available. Thus making value even harder! Pros - Largest coin ever produced by the US mint. Popular subject matter. First coins in a series. Controversy regarding the release. Cross over from Bullion buyers and numismatic collectors. (remember how State Quarters increased collecting) Bullion people might get the itch now. VERY limited mintage. If they start producing 100,000 to 500,000 sets in the future at reasonable prices close to spot, thats a large potential collector pool who will need these key coins to complete sets. Government forcing AP's to sell below market value. In the case of Amark you are getting PCGS slabbed coins shipped for the cost of silver and slabbing fees. $725+$250=$975 I mean, that seems like a deal to me. Mintage trumps silver value, IMO. Look at all coins with a 30,000 mintage. Can anyone show me any that have not held value? Anyone else have some pro's and con's to talk about?

My buddy ordered the NGC MS69 5 pc. set and received them yesterday, boy what a hand full. They are just extremely out of this world beautiful.WOW couldn't believe my tired old eyes,no comparison to the regular size coin.Yea they are alike but just the size alone, very impressive. The extreme clarity and detail, the artistic beauty, you have to see to believe.I don't know what the value will be in the future, they're expensive now,but just to own a 1st minting,3" size in the highest grade 69 so far IMO they ought to be worth having in my collection,so needless to say I placed my order for a set. IMO Investing in the future especially when you're young is a great idea so long as you know the risks, can afford to take them, have enough savings to get you through rough times and use your head,do the research and think twice.Enjoy Live long and prosper gasman96

To be honest I think with what I seen so far I'm going to wait until more hit the market and lower the price. I think it will eventually become rare but by no means would I ever put 1.4-4k into these, the price amark has is ok but there sold out as of now it looks

captainkurt: How many sets have you bought? I saw in another thread you sold one.
I'm considering buying the mint version assuming it's not too much over spot.

My parents bought a set, I bought a set, my brother bought a set, and two of my friends bought sets. I sold one set right off and did well, just sold a friends set and did ok. Now with prices falling I am hoping to find some gradable coins for longer term investments and a personal collection.
I'm guessing the mint versions will be higher then the bullion sets. I wouldn't be surprised to see a $1300 - $1500 price tag.

captainkurt: I resubmitted all of mine to PCGS and hope to get 3 69 grades. Your Yosemite and Yellowstone should go 67 at least and that's a tough call but I'd send them.
The Mount Hood seems to have the 'spiked 0' and not a scratch. The Grand Canyon and Hot Springs look like they have a good shot at 69s.
Best of Luck!

I have seen MANY coins hit the market, with limited mintages and this set, IMO, Is no different. I believe many coins over the years have at the released time sold mostly from the hype, I feel with this coin's release there is another factor, the price of AG, last I checked it was around $29.00+, this could have a very strong impact on the price paid for the 1st release coins also. I see the beauty, I see the lure, and the fact of them being the 1st of their kind, size, and having a TPG name on the slab, NOT a grade, just a 1st release designation label. I believe like some others this "fad" will pass, I do not know just where the price of AG is going, if down, I really see a major problem, If up, this could be a home run. I see others have "cashed in" on the hype, I hope people can tolerate any decrease that could come along the way! I am waiting to see the collectors version, I wonder just how much they will cost........

I read about the spiked '0' on CU forums. Does the spike go into the 0? A scratch like that should be seen in the 0 also.
