Quote: How much is it to have pcgs grade a set like $250 plus you have to open a membership with pcgs and I think the minimum membership is $99 so total to grade them would be around $350 ? Or go through a PCGS dealer. If you don't plan to submit coins for grading in the future, I wouldn't join PCGS just to submit these. I am a PCGS member and my invoice from PCGS for grading these 5 coins was $187.95. Add in the $27 it cost to ship them to PCGS and I'm at $215 total or $43/coin. I would not have submitted these unless the quality of the pieces was very high. 3 of mine looked like they had a good shot at a 69 grade and who knows? Miracles do happen and a 70 is not impossible.

Quote: If purchasers of these a-mark bu slabs do a cross over to ngc for a higher grade will they still get the first strike attribute from ngc now that ngc first stike deadline is over ?
No, First Strike type designation do not cross, so if it is after the NGC deadline it will not got an Early Release designation.

If you sign up to be a silver member ($129) you get a voucher for four free submission, gold member($199) gets eight submissions. But I dont know if the ATB's qualify for the free submission or not. They say no special issues are allowed for the vouchers. Anybody seen population reports or news on the Proof Like and Deep Proof Like Designations?

ok, I have a serious question: i will have some extra cash, from my tax returns, and I was looking into buying this set. Now, I see that you can get this set from $975 from a-mart, or ebay for $1000-$2000.. my question is, how risky of an investment is this? now, I do know tht buying high grade MS+ coins will hold their value over the same cirulated junk coin if silver dips or jumps. but with these new bullion collector coins with a low mintage, how risky is it to invest $1000 in these particular 25oz of silver if the price plummets to $15 or $10/oz. will they hold their value? i would like to know some of the other members opinions. my wife thinks its a risky risky deal, and I'm trying to comfort her by telling her the facts about investing in different types of silver coins and bullion. im not rich my any means, and when we ever get any extra money its good to save/invest it in something that will hold its value and appreciate.

I am wondering this myself. I am on the fence as to whether I should save a set or not. When I sold my set from Amark for $2200 it was a nobrainer but now prices are down to $1675 in some cases on ebay. Here is something to ponder. https://goccf.com/t/79872#648830If these, with about the same mintage numbers and only 1 oz of silver are selling for $3,000 10 years later then it stands to reason that the ATB's will hold value despite silver prices. But is the series going to be as popular as the American Eagle? Really hard to say. I really don't know how much they will be worth and would like other opinions as well.

@SDcoinguy: Buying a set at the issue price of $900 is a no brainer if you like silver and like these coins. I was very happy with mine and thought the mint did an outstanding job quality wise. (Distribution was another story ) When APMEX initially put these on sale at $1395 I was not a buyer, so I would not pay the inflated prices seen on ebay and elsewhere. My cut-off would be $1200 for the set of 5. Remember also that the mint will be selling numismatic versions of these coins soon. Mintage is limited to 27,000 but you'll have a chance to buy direct and not pay crazy money for them. The PCGS MS69 pieces are bringing insane money on ebay with some completed listings in the $3000 to $4000 range for one piece! Nuts!

Any idea what the Mint will be charging for these or when they may go on sale? It's still TBD on their website.

They aren't listed on the subscription page.
They are TBD on the product schedule page but no price info.

Will there be any differences between the already available sets and the Mint numismatic sets?

SD = If you mean the us mint's collector version of the ATB's then no you do not have to subscribe. Just stay on top of when they say they are going to sell them and do your best to call or be online at the exact time they go on sale. I imagine they will sell out fast and getting through on a jammed server or busy phone line can be difficult. If you are trying to buy the bullion coins from Amark then now you do have to register. The issue with them right now is they seem to be having unannounced sales which makes it hard to know when you will be able to get the coins. From what I can tell their last sale started at 9pm and by 10am they were sold out of about 500 sets. They look like they are planning another sale next week sometime but you need to register because they will sometimes close registration. Namesjay - Yes the numismatic coins will have a different finish, have a lower mintage, be in special packaging, and most likely cost more then sets available through the bullion guys.
