Sorry I am late--but I have been away from the forum for quite some time! Here is the first old coin I ever bought, back in 1994 when I was 9! I paid 15 dollars for it and still feel very sentimentally attached to this piece. In a past life I think it was Julius Caesar...almost 23 stab wounds!

1854 large cent pattern J-160 (original) PR-65 Brown NGC. A "regular" proof large cent is awfully expensive but this pattern issue is much more affordable. It's also a beautiful coin with the no-stars obverse giving it a clean cameo-like look. The obverse scratches are on the holder.

Are the legends on the 08 half normally like that? They look out of register.

The 1856 Half Cent and cent coins are beautiful! Half Cent mintage: 40,430 cent mintage: 2,690,463
