pretty close jbuck. I wouldn't quite say we're on familial terms or anything, but I do chat with them a bit and they know me, etc.
problem is, the branch I've been going to seems to have replaced almost all of their tellers. there are two who work on separate days that remain.

Bummer. You work so hard to train these tellers... Have you done anything yet or are you over it now? Time does have a way of cooling us down.

eh, if it happens again i'll bring it up. and if it happens again bc their policy has changed i'll politely have to withdraw my money and go elsewhere.
it could very well be that this is all a result of policy change.

I try to look for the simplest explanation. What is more likely: 1) A poorly trained new teller. 2) A poorly trained new teller and a policy change. Although it could be number two, I believe the odds are in your favour. Then again, the policy change may have included replacing all of the tellers!

i drew the policy conclusion bc of all the new tellers.

I've found that when something like this happens.....you just show up next time wearing a ski mask. Be friendly and "demand" your coins. I've never had a problem acquiring them in this fashion....

haha. yeah that's actually happened to me a couple times. believe it or not though, BofA does in fact allow concealed carry, whereas BBT doesn't. rather counterintuitive.

On the other side of the coin there was a Savings and Loan not far from me that I had several accounts with. I could always get bags of coins, rolls of half dollars or anything. All the tellers were realy nice, friendly, cooperative. Never had any problems there at all. Then that thing happened where almost all such organizations vanished and banks took over everything. That place was sold to a bank in the area, they closed this now called a branch, all tellers were let go. The main place did not know me, did not have any policy for anyone to get bags or even any large quantity of coins. Never a Half Dollar. When I would ask, was told not this banks polidy so I closed those accounts and moved on. Sure wonder what happened to all the nice, normal tellers.

yeah I mean it does make you wonder. in my case I have a good amount in this bank--thousands but also not exactly a retirement acct.--so wouldn't you think they easily make enough money off accounts like mine to offset the cost of ordering/giving coins away?

Obla, you have more restraint than I. He would of ate a knuckle sandwich if it had been me. I'm just kidding. ;) I think you did the right thing. I think you are right about the money they make off of yours to offset any fees for ordering coin. My advice would be the next time you see this teller, just be extra nice to him. You'll probably persuade him to help you out with your coin when you tell him your just trying to save the CU money by taking the dimes off their hands. And it'll make you feel better for being the bigger person.

I had the same thing happen to me but, with halves. I simply told the teller that I wanted to talk to the manager. The manager came over & I explained the situation calmly. The manager told the teller he was wrong and to order what I need. The manager assured me this would not happen again. This is what the tellers face looked like . I've ordered coins since & have been to the same teller a few times. He now greets me w/ a smile & is very pleasant.
