You're right Oblaka...and I really shouldn't even respond to a non-point...but it's hard to resist sometimes

it's really almost like they are selectively taking in the information because they just want to rant about how much money rollhunters cost banks.

i don't know if you saw this post, but someone I don't remember had actually gotten mad about it on this thread and was strattling the line of calling me names. it's very odd.

When a business has the same product for sale and the same price as every other like business in town the only difference in their businesses is customer service. Unless you live in a one bank town you are free to make a choice based on service.

oblaka, I remember that one...my feeling is that I see the same thing when posing a question to a politician...if he doesn't like the answer, he simply goes off on a tangent to avoid being exposed or admitting he is wrong.

maybe you should try a bank that lets your order the rolls in advance

No surprises you get there get the coins and leave , no complaints no hearing the word no and no worring of they wil have any in stock.

Maineman as for her going off " emotions " she said if she has the coins in stock she would authorize it if they look low on coin stock then she would not do it.

I dont see any mixed emotions with you having the coins to give or you dont , she mentioned ordering for elite customers and commercial accounts. Their agian I dont see any emotions but go figure.

Tamshoff banks do not offer the same " product " prices/interest rates differ some banks offer free checking some dont , some offer free paper checks some don't

Some banks have higher interest returns on checking and saving accounts. Some 1% some 3%
so in fact diff banks do offer differ " products " the product being better paying interest rates

So basing it on customer service wont always work. If a bank pays 3% on savings and has rude service . You cant walk to the next bank that pays 1% on checking with nice service and get the same return. Same as saying the bank is rude ill never go back . You might go to another bank that charges for checking while the rude one gave free checks.

I'd take a rude nasty tell at the bank with free checks , no fee checking , 3% intrest , no roll providing any day over a bank that pays 1% charges for checking and checks but offers rolls with no hassle.

It fact I have 3 bank acounts at seperate banks for that reason.

One bank I get rolls no problem ( then agian I dont get 1000's a week in rolls )
Other bank dump um free coin counting
Then my bank that I do my finaces at.

Out of the 3 banks its the bank with free everything that seems to be lacking customer service with all the rift raft that walks in and out ,but what do I care my money is in the one paying 3%

So no not all banks have the same " product "

Its also like anything else banks WANT YOUR MONEY ! they need your savings to earn intrest.

If you have a large savings , tell them you might have to go to another bank to get rolls and take your money with you .
If you dont have any saving they prob wont care, nor do they care " you might one day have money "

Money in accounts pays the banks bills enough said.
You have money they will please you , if you dont then oh well.

manager you talked to doesn't know a cost, she is making decisions based on emotion, not facts.

What is it you don't understand about that statement coppertop ?

You just gave a great example of what Oblaka is talking about...and don't even know it {:D]

I agree with the fact banks have different products but that is why I have personal banking in one bank and keep my roll searching to the other three banks in town. If all you are doing with the bank is picking up and dumping any bank will do.

maineman she gave the factors involved in the cost of the rolls.

You think every week its the same ?

If a guy pics up $20,000 in coins from 5 banks collecting machines one week , then the next week picks up $5000
in coins to be rolled.

Ether way the guy gets paid by the hour to collect the machines coins and transport the coins back to be rolled and redistributed.

His hourly rate is the same if he picks up $5,000 or $10,000

It impossible to figure out the exact cost per roll the bank has to pay due to variations in the factors involved.

I respect her repley for giving the factors involved rather then trying to guess at a cost.
The fact she made was BANKS WANT TO TAKE MONEY banks make money off intrest not being a currencey exchange window

copper, for the love of pete man, he's talking about the fact that you're overlooking several statements I've made about this circumstance:

1) the bank in question does not order coin.
2) the bank in question gets tons of CWR every week that they in turn have to pay to ship out bc it just sits in their vault otherwise
3)the bank in question does not order coin so their is no cost to the bank for getting the coin. customers drop the coin off and the bank hands them face for the coin.
4) the bank in question does not order coin.
5) no coin whatsoever is ordered by the bank in question.

Yes copper...once again you make my point and don't realize it...she does a service based on the customer's status, yet she doesn't know the actual costs...so how can she draw the line ? And then you point out that the guy picking up the coins gets paid regardless of the amount...so why not get extra for the Oblakas of the world ? Like another member once told you."You don't even know what you are argueing about".
I really get a chuckle out of this.

well and thirdly, your point is moot even if I operate on your assumptions, copper, because at the bank in question I am approaching that status. not quite there, but either way it's enough that providing me with something that costs them nothing should be of little worry to them.

OBLA its b/s

No bank gets all its coin from the customers.

Nonsense 100% . the bank orders what its needs to fill the gaps of what its lacking

You know it

Give me the banks phone number I'll call them right now let me ask them.

post the number i'll make sure the number rev look up matches the bank . then call and ask to speak with the manger about comming in and getting coin, then ask where they get the coins , how they get them and if they will be rolled or in bags inthe back.
then i'll ask her if they ever order coin.

You have given every excuse when someone post any reason why the bank would have a expense. Its like you're just making it up as you go. read your own post above that little list you gave me,. give me a break .
