Hi, I have a couple of variety guides but nothing that lists this 1804 Half Cent Crosslet "4" with stems. Check the " Cud" on the reverse.

Your Half Cent appears to be VG 8 and in the 2011 Red Book Lists the value to be $90.00.

I was referring more to the " Cud" deposits as a variety. I have the Major Variety and Oddity Guide of United States coins 7th Edition. In it they reference 1804 Large Cents with broken die " Cud" but not the Half Cent.

They list the Large Cent variety at $300.00 in 1975.

C-6, B-6 late-state Die Cud, but they all seem to be "Spiked Chin" varieties. Not rare, except I'm having a hard time finding examples without the spiked chin.

Hi SuperDave, I purchased the coin because of the Cud. I love cool and different varieties. I didn't pay much for it so I wasn't hoping to hit a home run. Though, if I did, all the better. What variety guide are you using?

The best free variety listing in existence - Heritage Auctions.

Seriously, though, membership there is free and they have records (with high-resolution pictures) of 1.3 million coin auctions. They have 963 archived sales of 1804 Half Cents alone.

I agree with Super, Heritage has a terrific database of coins, present and auction archives.

I owned this one a couple of months ago, I think that it is the same as yours.

Wow, that's cool. It does look just like mine!

I'll take a closer look at mine. I always felt it was a spiked chin.

I already am a member of Heritage. It is a great resource as is the Stack's site.

Zeewool, if you don't mind, what is yours worth?
