My best find to date roll searching would have to be my 1992 LMC CAM

VOTE! The find of the decade! Not only that, it was one of the first few found. Wasn't it like #3 found?

SDcoinguy It was a 1909D gold half eagle in a quarter roll. I remember the day well guy infront of me at the bank wiped out all the cwr of cents and nickels so I bought all the halves and about $100 in quarters. I don't usually search halves quarters or dimes and when I do look only for the silver and obvious anomalies. The teller even mentioned that the one roll of quarters seemed different, I told her I didn't mind and went home, that roll had about 10 actual quarters, a couple of 1 euro coins(slightly smlr than qtr), several 50L coins (slightly lgr than qtr) a half dozen slugs that looked to be from old electrical boxes and the gold half eagle coin(slightly smlr than qtr). After finding it I went back but the bank was closed and I didn't get a chance to visit again for about a week. It is now my second favorite bank.

BT It was the second found and I agree the find of the decade, but it is a new decade :)

My best find to date and one I don't expect to top any time soon is the 1982-DDr that is the image in my avatar. It was found in a bank roll. To the best of my knowledge there are still only three known to exist.

About 20 years ago I found a VF 1955-S dime in my change. I was so shocked, I dropped it on the floor.

I've got 3-I don't know which one is the best:
1. circa 1970, not old enough to drive to the bank, go meet my favorite teller, she says "we've got some old halves in the vault that are just used for accounting-they've been here a long time"-I say, can I see them-she brings out 5 rolls, and they're all walkers and franklins. I got home so quick,my dad says," are you done already"/, and I smile and show him the haul-50 bucks was alot of dough back then! 2. working the counter at a Mc Donalds in 1972-kid comes in during the lunch rush on a Sat. pm, buys his lunch with 2 halves, one an au 1942 walker, and the other a 1952 Washington Carver Commemorative unc.
3. mid 1990's talking a teller out of a 500 bill at my local bank.

Most exiting had to be my 1970d half dollar. For any half hunter that elusive 70d may not be the most expensive find, but very rewarding.

Also found $206.50 face value in 40% halves from a bank near my house. That helped pay the bills!

My 88 rdv-006 from rolls. Then a gift from my ex girlfriend that bought me 2 rolls of Indian Head cents. They were all heavily circulated, but about 25 different dates. Very cool. I was stoked to get them.

Did some roll searching last night. I was a bit excited when I opened a roll (customer wrapped) I found 6 IHC'S 1880'S up to 1908. Nothing rare or in great shape, but it did fuel me to finish the rolls and ill be looking forward to going to the bank to buy more today!!

1) 1923s SLQ in VF for $1, in a dealer's junk box several years ago. His main business was and still is RAM mint products and stamps. At the time, I wasn't into American, and it was certainly not his speciality either. At the time, I didn't know what I was buying, and he didn't know what he was selling.

2)1827 British copper penny in good fine for $2. Very scarce in Australia, but very rare in Britain in top grade.

3) A 1964 British penny, for $1, fully struck up in uncirculated, but thin and only 70% of the correct weight. Unlisted for this date, as an underweight error, but later dates known. I have since found out exactly how and why mint officials produced my coin.

All three came from dealers' junk boxes.

4) Colourised NCLT $1 coin pulled from circulation.

5)Paid $900 10 years ago for an Aureus of Augustus, from a dealer who used to work for Seaby's in London. Good fine condition.

I work for a retail store and the cashier knowing I'm a collector

kept 4 silver proof dollars that someone used for payment at face value.

They were a 1986 Vancouver, 1988 Ironworks, 1994 RMCP Patrol, and a

1999 Juan Perez Proof dollars.

Of course I got these at face too, This was about a year ago
