Ok so my fiancee and I are looking around some antique flea markets here and there and we finally found a booth with some coins.

I've been wanting to add one of these to my collection but the ones I've found have been a little pricey for me.

Can someone tell me a fair price for this coin? or if theres anything I need to know about it?

Thanks for looking. After I get some guesses on a fair price I'll let you guys know what I paid.
Rest in Peace

That coin is very damaged, and would be considered a cull. Worth a couple of bucks max in my opinion.

I hope you didn't pay too much for this coin, with the damage and wear it's not worth very much.

Looks like slanted 5's but, with that level of damage, I'd also say a few bucks at best.

It's in pretty rough shape. I'd say it's worth no more than a few bucks.

I think you have a cent there. It is hard to read because of the deep gouges in the center on the reverse. Your coin is badly damaged and that affects the value quite a bit. It is probably worth maybe 5.00 or so.

Two dollars would be a fair price, and 50 cents a bargain. What did you pay for it?

$2 for this cull? Over the years, I've periodically left coins like this alongside tip money in a restaurant, hoping a waitress might pass it along to a young, would-be collector.

I'd save my money and look for another, much less damaged, one.

I only paid 5 for. I knew it was pretty damaged but like I said, I've been looking for one to just add to my collection. I wasnt look for that MS65 specimen. So it was a buy to me none the less.

Thanks for the input guys. I figured it an ok dealing being that it was right around that $5 mark.
