Found this today roll-hunting. Not sure if this is a proof or just a nice AU? What do you guys think?

I think 1962 proof only came from Philidelphia mint.... so the "D" on the back gets my vote for Business Strike coin.

Makes you wonder what this coin has been doing for the last 50 years! Doesn't appear to have seen much circulation.

Even without the D mintmark, the frosty, non-mirrored fields would pretty conclusively identify this as a business strike IMO. Nice find, worth about 20X face value at current silver spot. I'd hang onto it and continue to accumulate a 90% silver stash.

I agree with Jaobler, this coin's surfaces are not consistent with proof. Of course the mintmark seals the deal. Great find!

Excellent find. Always nice to get something beside a Kennedy while roll searching.

I agree. Proof or not, this is an excellent find! A large portion of my Franklin collection came from roll hunting in the early 1990's. I never found one as nice as this one, not even close.

Definitely a Business Strike coin especially with the mint mark. However nice find with the condition.
