There was a post earlier that discussed Miss-Alianed Die's (MAD) vs off-strike coins.

My question is: because the reverse die strike is on center and the obverse if off....this would constitute "MAD"....right?

If this was an off-strike coin, both the obverse and reverse of this coin would be expected.

The correct term is off centered and not off strike. Another difference to keep in mind is a MAD is struck in the collar where an off centered error is struck out of the collar. So you should see a difference in diameter between the two.

I've seen a few cents like this and wondered what they were. Are these valuable at all? I just thought they were within tolerance and threw them in the dump bucket.
