Sitting on my from porch, in Lansing Michigan with neighbor kids in the 1960's looking for dates to fill those blue whitman folders, the folder number two was easy to fill from change. The folder number one was pretty hard.
I can remember looking up the the price of the 09 S VDB, seems like
it was $100 back then, and was just a dream to have one.

Then in the 1980's as a Airman in the Air Force in Northern Virginia.
Raising a family but still into coins. Talking to a local dealer
I could have had this coin, if I could have come up with a extra
$450.

In my experience this coin continues to go up in value.

I think this coin will continue to raise in price or at least hold
it's value. Of course this is just my opinion, but it has in my life time.

We have a casino less than a hour away, in Alabama.

My wife and I enjoy going a couple times a month. It is only slot machines, but I seem to be pretty lucky. Many times I win a few hundred. I split it with my wife and can buy coins with my half.

Many of the coins I post on here are bought with casino winnings.

Last week I hit $3200 on a progressive penny machine on a $1.50 bet.
That pushes my big hits to over 12K in less the two years.
We are not rich, don't play that much .. just lucky

I think that is my other hobby, that helps finance my coin addiction.

I found myself in a bit of a daze after realizing I had finally got my avatar.

Wheezydog - Thanks for the reply. I think I know what you felt.
Was up late .. keep looking at the pictures, up early ... looking at the pictures.

If it ends up as nice looking as I think it is, and I can get a good
picture .. maybe I can figure out how to make it my avatar.

John1 - I grew up there, went to Alaska as a teen, then into the
Air Force for 20 years.

I still have a lot of family in Michigan and Alaska.

Somehow I ended up in Florida ..

I am a fellow Michigander too. I only asked because I love to gamble (especially poker) and I got my parents hooked when I was in college. They have hit a few times for 5 or 6k on penny slots. Still a great story.

Though I haven't been willing to risk any money for a couple of years or so at the casino, I enjoy doing that too...
I love Blackjack and the slots.......you're making me think about going back soon to try my luck !
(Is it wrong if the wife doesn't know though ? ... )

Congrats on that win Bud !! .....
And the wisest move is to buy something like that, rather than let yourself PUT IT ALL BACK INTO THE CASINO ! ....

That is just soooo awesome ! ....... Many of us live through you my friend !! ....

If the wife don't know than all is good... if you win just say you found the money and buy her something nice with part of it and spend the rest on coins.
