I've purchased these two 1913 Buffalo nickels (first and second type). I noticed a little "F" on the obverse below the date. What is it? Can it reduce the value?

The "F" is the designer's initial. Designer is James E. Fraser, and you'll find that "F" on all Buffalo nickels.
