I think r***9 will be very frustrated when he/she is outbid at the last minute, losing it to a bidderwho pays $1,430.

r***9 he will not be outbid; it's do or die for this Canada guy!
r***9 has outbid & won every 2006 No P/No Logo Magnetic cent for the past month, no matter & at any price.
he has spent maybe $1500 on all & every 2006 No P/No Logo Magnetic cent listed.

go look at all the Completed/Sold listings to see who this masked man is...

I think you guys maybe jumping the gun abit on this 2006P nonmagnetic coin. ICCS has graded 73 and counting. AS with all modern coins, these numbers are bound to increase exponentially over the next few decades... I'm going to hold off until the prices drop off a little bit.

There is no question that the risk is there that more are found. No doubt the population will grow. But working in it favour is the fact that the 2006P is pretty rare to start and is already the focus of considerable collector interest. I am less worried that a roll will be discovered and more worried that some wily collector has a box stashed in his basement and will leak them out over time. If that were the case though, you would expect to see some of them hitting the market.

Would anyone care to offer a theory as to why there seem to be so few out there? I would have expected that there would be the possibility that planchets from a whole roll of metal to be out there... Does anyone know if they produced P cents on the same machines as non P and logo cents on the same day or adjacent days?

If r***9 really wants it, it won't come cheap. I too have been hunting this coin for 3 years now... let the games begin!

Smallcentguy is your coin better grade than this one listed on ebay? Perhaps bring it (and others) along for a little show and tell at the next Torex?

I picked up an ICCS MS66.

I have added a number of things since we last met that I think you will like--a couple of quite cool rotations and I have filled in most of the holes--only a very small few to go. Plus I picked up quite a few nice upgrades--always room for more of those. Geo VI is done but for upgrading that may (or may not) ever happen. Ready for the PCGS ego boosting (or deflating!) registry set regrade.

I should be able to make it to Torex I think.

MS64 - 17; MS65 - 21; MS66 - 33; MS67 - 2

The absence of any lower grades at all is intriguing to me. Maybe one roll and a few odd loose ones? A back door job done to make the roll and a few let loose into circulation to cover the tracks?
