'A back door job done to make the roll and a few let loose into circulation to cover the tracks?'' so the Mint worker is waiting to retire, then sell all his 33 MS66 & 2 MS67 wonder if ICCS will tell us how many were graded from just 1 person...

Good point Penny4Me. It is known as an error coin.

Perhaps the 2006P non-magnetic was a backdoor job for fun, but definitely not to retire.
Even at $1000 a pop (and its taken 4-5 years to get there), you can't retire on $30,000 :)...LOL

So if that many have been certified, why haven't we seen them for sale in auctions, coin shows and ebay? Did one person get a whole roll or more?

Those ICCS pop report numbers keep popping in my head - I am out of this one. A stable price will come when 20 or more of these things have been sold...

r***9 may be the smart one. He may be thinking that people are now underestimating how scarce this coin is. Maybe he thinks he will take 50 or 100 coins out of the market for a few thousand and then let them onto the market in a controlled way over many years. Probably a better strategy for making money off collecting then most. A lot more sensible than buying your typical RCM product for $50 to $100 a pop.

if you are talking about the rare 2006P non-magnetic; I totally agree... that people are underestimating how scarce this coin is. But if you are talking about the 2006 No P/No Logo cent and if he thinks by taking 50 or 100 coins out of the market for a few thousand and then let them onto the market in a controlled way over many years, then it's a totally bad strategy for making money. There are so many people that already have few and are just hoarding the 2006 No P/NO Logo cent. Just take a poll here of how many own the 2006 No P/NO Logo cent. Heck one guy just found one in Ohio this week, so they are all over the place. there were only 233,000 2006 P Magnetic cents made and I think these a more rare than 2006 No P/No Logo cent.

I know there was a topic on this before, but I am just making sure,so there are 6 varities of the 06 1 cent? And the 2 tuff ones are of course,06p non mag and then the 06 no mark magnetic. Is this right, I am quessing this has to be right because those are the ones I don't have.

I did help someone sell a 2006P non-magnetic for $3500 privately a month or two ago...
It was either a MS65, or MS66, I dont remember exactly.
Its an interesting mule to be sure. And its rare, but there are other pennies out there just as rare.
Try getting a 1859 9/6, TP9, DP3 or DP5.
In the last 6 months, I've seen 3 2006P non-mag for sale. Over the same time frame, I've seen 0 1859 9/6s, 2 1859 TP9, 3 DP3 and 3 DP5, 2 1882 C2/C1 doubled obv.
So the 2006P non-mag was a steal at $300-$500 a couple of years back. Now you're just paying "full retail price". I think at $2000-$3000 it has reached its full potential and is unlikely to appreciate from there.
