Double Mint Pillar of the Community United States 810 Posts	Posted 03/27/2011 1:26 pm What I was asking about was the light indentation that appears to look like a double struck by Georges' forehead. The letters are not bothered at all and neither is the rim. Report this Post to the Staff

This is slightly indented what I highlighed. Yet the letters and rim are not bothered. If I lay another quarter over that area it matches. Report this Post to the Staff

But it appears, as Coop suggested, that it could be a clashed die, which is a common occurrence and in most cases (including yours) does not fetch a premium over the coin's regular value. Double Mint Pillar of the Community United States 810 Posts	Posted 03/27/2011 11:57 pm I didnt realize my first picture changed when I changed the picture and dowloaded it oops. The first picture looked like a die clash and I agree. But I wasnt specific on what I was asking about. Thats why I drew the red line in to show whats indented. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/28/2011 12:00 am The polishing to cover up the clash removed more of the field. leaving a different looking field than normal. The clash outlines were removed leaving a deeper mark in the field which you see. Report this Post to the Staff
