I will paste three links of sets I really like below and reason or two why, all three silver, as gold sets just are not within my means, but by all means if you own one you really like or would like to have, please post a picture of it.... 1. .925 silver, any thoughts? I know you guys love the 90%, so how about this history of flight set, 125 oz of .925% silver, say 5000 spot value, and they is asking a hefty price, esp since silver passed 40 bucks. Nearly 7 grand, I like it, but not 66 hundred like even if I had it, but wow what a neat set, great history there, much work to put that set together ones self.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...:MESINDXX:IT2. Can't go wrong with lunar silver. Sure it cost double spot just about anymore, but it sells for that an beyond so who cares. It is sought after, people like it, it is a conversational set, as everyone falls into being born some time or another. This set below sold for 1320, 12 oz of silver, not bad eh. I have built half my own of this one, the tough get coins to boot.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...:MESINDXX:IT3. Finally, my personal favorite, this neat set sells for 600 plus often, for 5 oz of silver. The pirates, or five most famous and successful from the golden age of piracy.... This next paragraph I will share some knowledge I learned on a great history show about the golden age of piracy, called "Real pirates of the Caribbean", I do believe. Black Beard took like 24 ships in about 16 months before his fall, but not many know about Black Bart (a tea toddler from Whales, complete with fancy dress), a former slave ship navigator forced into action when his ship was taken. Him and the rest of the slave ship were told they would be executed if he did not become a pirate, common in the times. Later, the captain was killed on a raid of a small West African town, and the men made him the new captain. First thing he did, avenge the captains death with a follow up raid on that town. Over 2 an 1 half years, he took a ridiculous amount of ships, before meeting his end to the cannons of a man of war "The Swallow", that he verbally challenged with a death wish of sorts. Him and his men took over 400 ships, way more than any other pirate. Like I said, ol Edward teach, aka Black Beard, a possible school teacher turned pirate, was the next closest to Black Bart in ships taken.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...:MESINDXX:ITHere is another link with great info via Bartholomew Roberts.... http://www.thepiratesrealm.com/Bart...Roberts.htmlEdited by Silverhawk74 04/11/2011 02:54 am

My dream set in silver would be the denarii of the first 12 Caesars of the Roman Empire.
My dream set in gold would be the aureii of the first 12 Caesars of the Roman Empire.

I love Roman history Sel691, I imagine those are amazing, any pics? Wow, great eye ajay1974, must be that year of birth, lol. Those are all right up my alley, Edgar Allan Poe with the raven, and three of those four are raised images, as I personally love that. I have one here of Andrew Jackson I found you may like as well, it is described as a paper weight, and the artist who made it just past on an his work is very sought after, so the seller says. One great side shot, shows the amazing depth in the detail.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...:MESINDXX:IT

Yeah, that is really great tank set, some real history in those coins as well, never seen them before. So much out there, hard to find it all.... As far as being sold out, jut gotta keep checking ebay, and eventually you will see one set come up for sale. Another great set I can't find right now, is the seven wonders of the world set, and a couple of those bars are very hard to find....

I see the flight set brought $5500. I've known Julian since the mid-60s, when he was considerably wider. One of the old school dealers.

my vote goes for the lunar set, its the most recognizable of the 3. I know they are exremely limited, I cant tell you anything about the other 2, I've never seen them before. I dont know what the cheapest of the 3 is but those lunars have a good demand

Yes guns, funny I posted this way back when I was first surfing around, and I agree that what I have seen now, the lunar coins have more of a following then any of the other. It really comes down to really liking world history, or pirates, or tanks, or whatever to invest in those specialized pieces.... I would now much rather have a good trusted high quality ASE, or proof, but then variety is good as well IMO....

I would like a complete set of all Buffalo Gold issues including 2008 Prosperity Set and unc -proof 2008 four coin sets. I could do it now but I'd rather do it at $1200-1400. I think a complete 2008 set would be a great collection all by itself.

I want this bad boy. Each coin comes in an air-tight holder with the exception to the Panda, Buffalo and the Britannia, they are sealed in the mint plastic and the set is attractively housed in a hardwood presentation box. The set consists of the following coins: 2011 Australia - Kangaroo 2011 Austria - Philharmonic 2011 Canada - Maple Leaf 2011 China - Panda 2011 Great Britain - Britannia 2011 Mexico - Libertad 2011 Somalia - Elephant 2011 South Africa - Krugerrand 2011 United States - American Eagle 2011 United States - Buffalo

Wow what a set, I am guessing almost 10 oz. of gold or around 16,500 spot value, so if the dealer just got it close to spot, that is about a 1900 in profit if sold at 18,386, depending on fees an shipping. And if they got it when gold was 500 an oz. well that is not a bad little turn either....
