Hi, Fuzzy317, Responding to your post of 9/7 and the 1499 coin: - Namen is now called Namur, Belgium, a nice town in the French speaking part of Belgium - At that time, much of the Low Countries were under the rule of the Dukes of Burgundy. - Phillip IV (the Handsome, or Philippe le Bel in French) was the first Hapsburg Duke of Burgundy (his father, Maximilian of Austria married Mary of Burgundy), reigning from 1482-1506.
As we go back to the 1470s, we'll see some coins popping up from the reign of his mom (1477-82) and his grandfather, Charles the Bold (1467-77). The briquets and double briquets from Brabant are nice early dated coins, not too pricey. I'll be waiting for 1479 and 1475!
