This is, unfortunately, my most photogenic 1809. I had to ramp up the brightness and contrast, and even so the date is barely visible.:  It's a 1 batzen from the Napoleonic principality of Neuchatel.

I'll see your faded 1809 if you can see my faint 1808. It's a black-eyed Napoleon demi-franc, about USA-dime size. Likewise photo enhanced to bring up what little detail remains. Anyone else please feel free to override this pitiable coin with something more readable! I'll do better at 1805, I promise..

Indeed! It's rare to see George III in all his pudgy-faced glory. No wonder the colonies revolted.  Here's my contribution for 1805, my last show&tell for this century since I missed 1807:   Naples, 120 grana (crown size)
