cwb8539 that's a nice '71, they're one of the harder Indians to come by in good shape. I'll give it a F-15 but a third party would probably go VF-20. Have you been able to get a shallow N '71 yet?

That seems like a weakness in the strike rather than wear. I'm going to say VF-25.

Maybe I'm crazy but I see an EF-40 coin here with a touch of wear and some soft-ish strike around the head/LIBERTY & neck (middle of the obverse).

I like it!

This coin has me a little stumped--to grade from pics at least.
I probably need to see more examples of weak strikes to compare.
If I bought this one from a dealer, I think I'd pay for an F-15.

I haven't had one of those yet. From what I've read, those are real scarce.

The rest of the details are strong, but LIBERTY is weak which had me stumped a little. I called it a F12. Looks like I was a bit on the conservative side.

I tend to grade Indian cents on the conservative side also, I figure that way I can't go wrong, lol. I got lucky last year this time and was able to find a shallow N '71. I sent it to Rick Snow for attribution and he graded it VF-20 Snow 4 so that made me a very happy camper.

I'd go F15 based on the wear of liberty.
Nice coin with great eye appeal though and pricey.
Missing from my IHC collection I might add
Rest in Peace
