Great eye appeal with the toning, just watch out for the many fake Isabella, and Lafayette Commemorative out there. I would have it authenticated.

I'm not familiar with the wear points on this design but that piece does look high AU at least. The rim issues are a concern and you might consider authentication to confirm it's genuine. It doesn't appear to have the color/luster an MS65 would require but may be an MS64 and they can bring $1,000. If it were AU58 you're still looking at a $400 coin.

High AU, but it might possibly be artificial toning, and that can affect any third party grading... But this is a coin that should be graded nonetheless because of the rarity, and for resale value... Man that's beautiful...

I think its an nice high AU, the knee on the reverse looks like its had a rub, and the cheek on the obverse. That being said people are really strict about grading these. I still see a $400+ coin the right side of the rim on the reverse scares me, and the lower obverse rim really scares me, I would deff send it in to be authenticated. What is its weight? Where did you accuire it?

It's weight is 6.22 grams. Got it on the bay (I think I paid $400 or so).

The weight is consistant with an AU coin, are the rims folded over like they are in the picture?

There is a bit of raised edge on the bottom obverse rim. However the edges have nicely formed reeds without any damage. Also it does have a nice cartwheel luster.

The weight is consistent with original mint specifications of 6.25 grams. I'm not seeing anything that leads me to believe this coin is not a genuine Isabella. Like the others .... I question the origin of the unusual color and wonder what is going on at the rims? As far as grade goes .... the high points for this design ... and the first to show signs of rub ... are the central oval jewel in Isabella crown (obverse) ... and the point where the strand of wool crosses the kneeling spinner's thigh on the reverse. Take a good look at both of those spots and determine if the mint luster is undisturbed ... if so this is an MS coin and given the clean fields and lack of bag hits I'd say MS64 possibly MS65. If rub is present then a lovely AU58 slider. Compare yours to my PCGS MS64 CAC example: This is a very popular (and valuable) coin. IMHO worthy of submission to a top tier TPG for authentication and grading. David

David There is plenty of mint luster in those areas. I did notice while checking that the jewel has 3 marks in it. The don't appear in your photo so I guess there is some damage there.

Thanks to all for the grades. I'll send it in to NGC and let you know what happens.
