Two versions of the same coin. The US Mint is selling the numismatic version, which has a vapor-blasted finish. Allegedly a higher quality than the bullion version, which only coin dealers and precious metals dealers are selling. The bullion versions are also minted by the US Mint, but the are only available to dealers and precious metals dealers (like APMEX) directly, and then we as collectors can buy from them as investments.

The bullion versions are lagging in release behind the current circulation quarter, but I think the 1st two of 2011 are already out. Conversely, the numismatic versions are well behind; the 2nd coin in the series was only released on Tuesday or so.

It's confusing, I know. But if you read through a few of the pages in these topics, you'll figure it out pretty quickly. I think the next 3 numismatics pucks are supposed to drop at the rate of 1/month or so, if I can believe what I've read in other topics.

For either version, be prepared to see your coffers depleted if you start collecting these.

Well I ordered mine around 1000pm last night. So it looks like I'm in. Cant wait to see this one now. Although it says the ship date is I think around the 25th. Anyone else pay the $17 for quick shipping.

Regarding the "quick shipping"...save your money and pay the $4.95 regular fee. The last one's were ALL shipped UPS next day air regardless of what you paid (even though the order was under $300)

I send everything to a USPS PO Box, and they don't offer the 'expedite' option but send priority mail.

FYI, If you buy much via Internet and mail order, a PO Box is handy and essential. Rarely would I use a physical street address for PM or coins, the 2010 pucks being the last notable occasion...

Called the Mint today to check on my Yellowstone uncirculated order, shipping tomorrow or Monday. The customer service rep also kindly told me the Yosemite puck is dropping on Tuesday, June 7th @ 12Noon. Yosemite is exactly three weeks from Yellowstone, if these drops are indeed three weeks apart for each...ETA June 28th for Grand Canyon NP and July 19th for Mt. Hood NF. Expensive series.

That schedule sounds about right considering that they have 5 more pucks from 2011 that they also have to sell within this year. Try keeping up with that Yeah it'll be an expensive series alright.

Just checked online at USMint and my Yellowstone puck has shipped. I have a tracking # but it doesn't register on the UPS site yet, so it must have been a very recent shipment and is awaiting pickup. Looks like I should have in my hot little hands tomorrow!

Kind of exciting! I still keep wondering what the heck I'm going to do with 17.5 pounds of silver when this craziness is over.

Also, how many cans of spaghettio's I'm going to have to eat instead of a normal meal to be able to afford these silly things...

The coin looks really nice, I think the second image is off in color though.

Oh and this time they actually put the park side up instead of GW, that way you don't have to fight the holder to remove the coin and see the other side.

AlmostCollectible -- Sweet!

Some folks noticed flaws/wrinkling/etc in their Hot Springs pucks. Any noticeable issues with your Yellowstone?
