Searching through a couple of tubes of old nickels for die cracks, I found two 1950 nickels with obverse die clashes, one with a very obvious hearing aid. These must be fairly common for this year since I had only a dozen of this year to look at. They're well beat up from circulation but the price was right - pocket change.

Look on the reverse to see if you can see the matching clash. My those are heavy marks.
I do love die clashes although double HP is better. Happy hunting.

Didn't notice any clashes on the reverse, if there were any where would they show up, in the fields around 5 Cents and the date?
Were double HPs seen in nickels ?

Clashes on George VI nickel on the reverse tend to be mostly at the beaver's nose, a vertical curved line caused by the back of the neck. Also the jaw/throat can leave a mark above the date, and the hairline can be visible in "CENTS". That's what I found mostly.

Yes double HP's are found on nickels. I have a few but can't remember the dates. They are on quite a few dates.
I don't believe prices are set on doubled HP nickels yet that I know.

OK cownick, you've piqued my interest, time to dig out those double HPs and post some pics please.

Thanks dr_x, guess there is a clash by the nose.

It's hard to tell with your picture, but I see a line that could be a clash indeed.

The photo below shows one of the die clashes that runs from the leaf downwards to the rock. There is a distinct indentation under the chin.

The obverse is almost identical to the original post.

But do these add any value to the coin?
