I keep 1964 and below..............

Why 1964 you ask? People pay premium because they think they're silver! I've seen PLENTY of people selling them , so now out of the $100 or so FV I've sorted through , I've managed to make something around 5 or 6 rolls of 1964s only. 1963, 62 , 61 and 60 are just about as rare as anything from the 40s (including war dimes).

Best thing with the $100 FV I've sorted has been the 4 war nicks I've found ;)

The last coin auction I went to here locally had 76 Bicentennial halves selling @ $3.50/ea and SBAs @ $1.75, I have no doubt that I could sell rolls of 1964s for way over face.

no offense but that's kind of messed up selling really common coins to people who don't know better. taking advantage of others because you know more is not very nice. just saying.

^gotta agree. Very dishonest to sell 1964 s at a premium! Not to be judgemental but that type of attitude will not garner many good responses here!

Only because others are pulling sleazy moves like that shouldn't encourage you to do so as well. Just my Two Cents.

We were bitten by the nickel bug too. Natural progression to go along with the pennies.

Nicely done on the roll search so far!

2009s are pretty tough to come by in circulation. IIRC it had the lowest mintage of any nickels since 1955. For example the mint issued 39million and change of both 09-P and D and in 2008 they minted 380million P and 345million D.

I've found a couple of Buffalo nickels in circulation (one dateless and one 1928) so you might get lucky that way too. I haven't found any War Nickels though :(

Keep it up!

What are your feelings on selling Bicentennial halves for $5/ea, Non-silver ikes for $3/ea and typical SBAs for $2, chromed pennies for $5ea and colorized $2s and $5s?

Nice finds ancient coin guy! I expect you will find some buffalos soon.

Hey schockergd, don't be the guy who people silently curse because you ripped them off and they didn't find out about it until later.
When I was 11 I thought ALL coins 64 and under save pennies were silver, and I saved the 64s cause I didn't know any better.

My feelings towards the other coins? They are just being sold as collectibles not precious metals so to each his own. Besides, they are exactly what they say they are.
