One idea not covered yet would be to send me that $20/week. This method would be advantageous since if out of reach you wouldn't be tempted to blow it on anything useless.
I would use your money to buy coins and tell you how nice they look in my Albums too.

I agree with most comments so far...for me, there are three major factors that come into play with a decision like this:

1. How much time do you have? If you have lots of time, you might really enjoy roll searching pennies, nickels, and halves. If not, avoid spending your money that way...remember high-volume collecting is a timer killer.

2. What are your likes? If you really like silver, then the suggestions on War Nickels, dimes, quarters, and halves are a great way to go. Even darkside silver can be LOTS of fun. If you like gold or copper...or coins with high premiums, start saving that $20/week. That's the way for YOU to go! Also, I have found that ebay can be a great way to pick up some coins IF you know what you are looking at.

3. How constant are you? If you like to switch things up quite a bit...that's fine. Plan accordingly. If you think you can save for moths and months to get that big $$$ purchase, great! If not and you need more immediate results/stisfaction from your spending, then maybe a less costly, smaller series is the way to go. (i.e. Franklins)

If I had five more dollars of allowance, it would be a brick of pennies a week!

I would finish off the sets that I am currently working one. I might not be able to get a coin each week, but I assume that combining a few weeks would be okay.

There are two ideas I like in here.

The first one is about books. Does anyone have recommendations about a good book for someone interested in Franklin and Walking Liberty halfs?

I am also interested in Uncirculated Franklin halfs, and possibly proofs.. How much of a premium over silver price would one expect, and are there some tough dates in the series?

Rest in Peace
