I found a nice 1994P 50 degree DER last night.
My choices on traildies.com are the 1994P-1DER-045T and 1994P-1DER-050T. Both are priced a bit higher than the others which is nice. Hoping for the 45T and will check the markers tonight. Also will post some pics.

My Question is: What is meant by the references to Stage A, B, C. Is it early verses late stage dies? I don't see any descriptions but I'm not 100% on the website.

P.S. Why is the 1994P-1DER-081WST noted as 2nd strongest. Looks weak. What am I missing?

Thanks

Stage "A" is the same as EDS, Stage "B" MDS, Stage "C" LDS. As for die #81 it was listed #2 because the trails (not very strong) effected almost the hole reverse and the wavysteps are very strong.

Sometimes stage is used for an event that hppened to a die during the process of the dies life. IE the "RPM Book" mentions many stages for their listing of dies. Some run from A-L depending on what happened to the die or the reverse replacement of the die. So stages don't always mean die states. Maybe in this case it does, but an email to BJ Neff might help with your questions?

Thanks for the pointers. This is uncharted territory.

I'm thinking this is close to the 1994P-1DER-050T perhaps Stage C. Except ...

My degree angle as shown by The Gimp is 35-36 degree. You can double check this with the few of the following that are plummed to grid. I grabbed a copy of the 1994P-1DER-050T and did the same thing and got an angle of closer to 45 but not 50. Not sure how the degress are measured. See last pic where the angle difference is measureable.

Begin picture flood ...
